At Arundel Park Riding for Disabled, we run an Independent Participant Program this program runs on a QLD School term basis and provides an all-encompassing range of equestrian activities, these include both riding and non-riding activities. We schedule or term-based program with themed based weekly or fortnightly activities and during at least 3 sessions over the term we support the participants in non-riding horsemanship skill development. This is an integrated program for participants with and without a disability who can engage in the program independently. The participant must be at least 7 years old and be able to work with our horses without support; we suggest that the younger or new students enroll in the Ready Set Trot Program to gain confidence so they can gain confidence and experience to progress into the Independent Participant Program.
Independent Participant Program
Information
On initial contact we ask that you complete an APRDA New / Returning Participant Enquiry Form, a link to this form is at the bottom of the page.
Once this form is completed and returned to our office, we will enter the participants details on to our waitlist register. Our Coaching Staff regularly refer to the waitlist to match participants with available openings in our program schedule.
All riding programs at APRDA have a weight limit of 75kg that applies to all riders. If this limit excludes a potential rider we offer a Horsemanship Development Program that will support them in learning other horse related skills.
Due to their popularity and limited numbers, we usually have a waiting list. Independent Participant lessons require a commitment of one school term as a minimum.
